Keywords:
Income, Religiosity, Awareness, Intention to Pay ZakatAbstract
The low realization of zakat collection relative to the existing zakat potential serves as the background for this study. The research aims to analyze the influence of income, religiosity, and awareness on the intention of Depok City residents to pay zakat. A quantitative approach utilizing a survey method was employed. The study sample consisted of 100 respondents selected through probability sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that, individually, income has a positive and significant effect on the intention to pay zakat, with a significance value of 0.008 (<0.05). Religiosity does not have a significant effect on the intention to pay zakat (significance value of 0.167; >0.05). Meanwhile, awareness has a positive and significant effect on the intention to pay zakat (significance value of 0.000; <0.05) and emerges as the most dominant variable. Simultaneously, income, religiosity, and awareness significantly influence the intention to pay zakat, with an F-test significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.471 indicates that 47.1% of the variation in the intention to pay zakat can be explained by these three variables, while 52.9% is influenced by factors outside the scope of this study. The study concludes that increasing income and awareness can boost the intention of Depok City residents to pay zakat, whereas religiosity does not significantly affect the intention of muzaki (zakat payers) in Depok City. There are other factors that may be more significant: income status, economic needs, knowledge regarding the obligation of zakat, ease of payment, trust in zakat management institutions, and the individual's level of awareness regarding the zakat obligation..
